Dan and Emily: Cancun Wedding 05.01.2014

Oh gosh. Where do I begin to explain how much this wedding meant to me?! I don’t know if there are words!

To start things off Emily and I clicked right away. The minute she first contacted me do to their engagement photos (remember the row boat on the lake?!) I knew we would be a good fit. I didn’t realize we would become such close friends. Marco text me during their engagement session making sure I was still alive! It took so long because we spent so much time talking!

Fast forward to last summer when I had the HUGE honor of photographing their maternity photos (remember gorgeous floppy hat at sunset?!?) We again spent so much time talking about pregnancy, life and other girly things that Dan finally said “why don’t you exchange numbers so you can go out?!” THANK YOU Dan for being so patient with our long long chats!

Finally their wedding was near! We boarded the plane to Mexico wearing Hawaiian shirts Dan lovingly bought all the guests flying down on the same plane!! It was so fun getting to know their family and friends on the flight down! (and getting to experience a plane that was almost grounded due to so many people drinking more than they should have! From another group not ours!)

The resort was STUNNING! Absolutely stunning! The perfect setting for their wedding! Cancun holds a special meaning for Emily and Dan. It was where they met, and it was where Dan proposed to her a year later, and now where they said I Do. It was so sentimental and meaningful! I LOVED it!!

We met so many amazing people while there! Made so many new friends, witnessed one of the most emotional, and amazing weddings we have ever been to and there literally aren’t words to explain how amazing the entire trip was. It is one we will remember for the rest of our lives!

The biggest thing that stayed with me the entire trip, and even so now that we are home, is how much LOVE for these two there is. And how much FUN this group is! The stories that came out about Dan and Emily and their story were just amazing! The stories of adventure, and craziness and also the stories of great friendship and how incredible these two were; not only to their friends and family but to each other as well!

The highlight of the wedding for me though had to be when Dan picked up Austin (their 8 month old daughter) and had a father daughter dance with her. Their was not a dry eye there! (thankfully I had my camera to hide behind!!) Austin was born MUCH earlier than expected and spent quite a bit of time in the NICU. Watching Dan and her together was absolutely amazing!

Dan and Emily, you are the reason I LOVE what I do! I love you two SO stinkin much and can’t wait for many “I miss Mexico” bbqs, a Dumb and Dumber movie night, we are going opening night right Dan? (sorry Emily!), many shopping trips for our kids (sorry Dan!) and much much MUCH more!! Bring on the Icebergs and Margaritas!  Our life is better now with you guys in it and I just can’t thank you enough for opening up your lives to fit us in! :)
