Kelowna Wedding Photographer: Dan and Gabrielle

Dan and Gabrielle planned their entire wedding day about having their photos done at sunset….and it was AMAZING! They said I do on a small hill in her parents backyard overlooking their family’s property. They had helped Gabrielle’s entire family get the yard and property ready and it looked beautiful!

Gabrielle is Marco’s cousin, so my cousin in law! I’ve known her for 12 years now and have loved getting to know Dan better! He’s the perfect match for her in every way. The morning of they both were so calm and relaxed and ready to get married. Gabrielle made such a fun bride. Her dress was STUNNING and she just oozed elegance, but she has an adventurous heart that is not high maintenance in the slightest. She had no problems walking through fields with dirt and never stopped to worry about her dress once!! Her main goal was just to get married and have a blast!

Their wedding day had a unique itinerary with her wanting sunset photos, but it created a very relaxed backyard wedding feel. They each got ready at their parents houses, and carefully hid waiting for the ceremony to start. Watching her Dad walk her out the front door of his house and down the aisle was so emotional. I loved the sentimentality of it! Dan had a few tears, Gabrielle’s Dad had a few tears and I am pretty sure after the emotional hug he gave her there wasn’t a dry eye there…including mine!

Rather than a sit down dinner, they opted for rotating appies for a few hours so guests could mingle and enjoy the sunset. It was BEAUTIFUL! One of the most stunning sunsets I had seen in awhile! I loved that after photos were done, it went right into speeches, and dancing! And if you’ve never been to an Italian wedding, it’s hard to explain the dance floor. I have never seen so many people on the dance floor regardless of the song. Drinks were flowing constantly and the dancing was a blast. It was so amazing to see cousins, aunts and uncles and even Nonna out on the dance floor nonstop.

A highlight for me and if you know how sentimental I am, you’ll understand why, was that during the father daughter dance, they invited all the father and daughters there to come and join them on the dance floor. Watching my husband dancing with our daughter was SO emotional…all I could picture was them in however many years dancing together at her wedding and I was a mess. The next song was just as emotional when they asked all the mother and sons to join the dance floor and my son went running towards me asking me to dance. I LOVED the idea and it was so neat to look around and see all the father/daughter’s and mother/son’s dancing together.

Dan and Gabrielle, THANK YOU so much for having me photograph your wedding. It was  so beautiful and it meant the world to me! It was such a special day and one I am sure the whole family will never forget!! :)

A HUGE thank you to my husband for second shooting! You did such an amazing job and I love when we get to work together :)
