Morgan Creek Golf Course Wedding: Mike and Allison

Mike and Allison got married last weekend at Morgan Creek Golf Course in South Surrey. It feels weird to be blogging their wedding in a hoodie and yoga pants, because it was 32 degrees the day of their wedding! It was SO hot! But so gorgeous! It felt like summer, and Morgan Creek is set up beautifully for the heat. Their ceremony site is situated in full shade (under an arbor that Mike made himself JUST for their wedding, that will now have a home in their backyard!) and the reception hall was stunning and bright, but fully and gloriously air conditioned :)

We met Mike and Allison just over two years ago when Marco and I travelled to Mexico for Emily and Dan’s wedding. We bonded over late nights in the “sports bar” at the resort, eating pump cheese nachos at 2am! We got welcomed into their group of friends and many of us have kept in touch over facebook since! Our table was a mini Mexico reunion!! Now we just need to plan a reunion trip back ;)

Mike and Allison are such a special couple. Allison makes me laugh, I just love her bold, confident, vibrant personality. She planned her itinerary down to the minute, “arrive back at the limo at 6:27 pm”, but never in a bossy, bridezilla way ever! She just ever so eloquently knew exactly what she wanted, busted her ass to plan her day and then relaxed on the day of as everything fell in to place. It was amazing and I loved it! I love seeing brides relax into their day and truly slow down to enjoy every minute. There’s nothing better! There’s also nothing I love more than a bride who can get done up to the nines, and then walk through a forest in her heels and dress not caring how much of the forest she’s collecting behind her in her dress! Allison has an adventurous heart and I LOVE it!

Mike is calm, relaxed and has an equally vibrant personality. He lights up when Allison’s around and doesn’t ever try to hide his emotions. Check out how he fully embraced his first dance song and belted it out to Allison. I am pretty sure I saw every single girlfriend/fiance/wife nudge her guy and say, “ummmm I want that!” Mike is also one of the most considerate guys…he’s always making sure everyone is doing ok and having a good time. I rememeber at their engagement session, him telling me how he walked by a David’s Tea and popped in just to bring home some tea for Allison because he knew how much she loved tea. (again every girlfriend/fiance/wife is giving the same nudge I sense haha).

These two are so each others match and it meant so much to me to get to be there to celebrate with them. Mike and Allison, I am so so so sad it’s over!! It was such an amazing day and I loved every minute of the celebration!! Can’t wait for a BBQ this summer!! :) Love you guys!
