FAQ: Prints
The number one question I get is whether or not I include a disc with my portrait packages! YES! YES! YES!
When I first started out as a photographer, I was told be many many others in the industry to not include the disc of photos in my portrait and wedding packages. When I asked why, I wastold that by doing so, I would lose out on a lot of income, and that you make your most money through the selling of prints, albums and other products.
From a client point of view this just did not make sense to me! When I got married, the most important part of the package to me was whether or not we were able to have the disc with our pictures on it! I wouldn’t have hired a photographer that refused to sell us the disc! I wanted to be able to make prints to give as presents, to take time to think about where we wanted canvases to go etc. Years down the road I wanted to be able to look through all of our photos…not just the few we could afford to purchase through prints.
With this in mind, I decided that I just had to include a disc of some sort with every photo package!
My second most asked question, especially around Christmas with everyone taking tons of photos, was where to get prints done! I am a client of a professional lab, where I get all client orders done. I also use them for our family photos that I am framing for the wall, or having printed on canvas.
However, when it comes to those 4×6 prints, that I print off by the 100’s and slip into countless albums, I use Costco! They are AMAZING! Their 4×6 prints are only $0.15 each, and they do a fantastic job! I actually know of two professional photographers in the Lower Mainland who get all their printing done there! They are so affordable, fast and it’s very high quality printing. Perfect for those smaller prints that will be put into albums, or photoboxes!
