I am a Shoot and Share Photographer

When I was 3 years old, my Grandparents babysat me during the day while my parents worked.

One afternoon my Grandpa got down to my level and let me know that the next day another child was coming over to play, and he was wondering if I would be able to share my toys, and make a new friend.

Well I guess I thought about this long and hard because the following day, without saying a word, I marched into the living room, laid my toys out around me, sat in the middle and firmly said, “I don’t gots to share with NO ONE!”

Thankfully 25 years later, I have learned to share! haha! I am all about sharing. In fact I’ve built my entire business around sharing. Sharing photos with clients, sharing information with new photographers, sharing parts of my life so you can know who I am as best you can!

Our photography industry is moving in an amazing direction. A direction that focuses on sharing. On serving our clients, and bettering the lives of everyone involved.

So what does it mean to be a shoot and share photographer?!

Sharing images…..

For me, it means that I share my high resolution digital files with clients. When I was a bride, I wanted to find a photographer like that. IT WAS HARD. Thankfully I found one who was amazing, and I want to share that with future brides. I want to make it easy for them to share their photos with friends, family, and with each other for years to come.

Rather than making the majority of my income through selling prints, and canvases and albums, I make it through offering photography services and including the digital images in all my packages. No one will ever get photos done with me and NOT receive their digital images.

This doesn’t mean I don’t offer products! I do! I love me a good canvas, I still look at my wedding album all the time, and offer them to all clients, past and future! It just means that I offer them as a bonus, and an add on if wanted.

Sharing stories….

Sharing with my clients means so much to me. The word SHARE comes up so often in what I do and I just LOVE it!

I love sharing in the couples wedding day! Meeting their families, getting to know them as a couple, making friends along the way. Sharing in each others lives during this joyous time!

I love sharing the images after! I always smile when couples ask me if they can share their PASS gallery, or share their images themselves online! YES PLEASE! it’s why I don’t watermark anymore! I want my clients to be able to freely share their images with everyone in their lives. To share them with their future children, and grandchildren one day! To share their stories, their memories.

It’s also why I use PASS! It is the most innovative, easiest, and funnest way to share photos! The goal of PASS is to make it as easy as possible for me to share my photos with clients, and for clients to share their photos with everyone who is important in their lives.

Sharing in a community with other photographers….

Being a Shoot and Share photographer, also means being a part of an amazing community. There are local Shoot and Share groups all over the world!! There is also a global group on facebook that is filled with incredible photographers who are all about sharing information, giving advice, and sending virtual hugs. Whether you share with PASS or not, find your local group, join the global one and join in!

They launched a Shoot and Share magazine last night that is AMAZING. I have read it three times already and I can’t wait for the next one already. Be sure to check it out!

If you have any questions about being a Shoot and Share photographer PLEASE send me an email! Say Hi! I’d love to meet you! :)

And to end off a post on sharing images, here’s a sneak peek at what’s gonna hit the blog and be shared on PASS in the next week!! :)
