Jenn and Terry: Vernon Engagement Session

Jenn and Terry are so much fun and so great together! We met for their engagement session at Kalmalka Lake Provincial Park. Such a GORGEOUS park!

I have to admit I was a tad nervous when I first pulled up into the parking lot and saw the park map. With names like “Rattlesnake Point” and “Cougars Canyon” I was slightly terrified. Bears and garter snakes I can handle. Rattlesnakes and cougars I can not! The park was so gorgeous though that I quickly forgot about the threat of dangerous, life threatening animals.

Jenn and Terry are so outdoorsy and love spending time together camping, quadding, fishing, hiking and travelling, so they chose a GREAT location for their session! They brought an outfit change, which I LOVE! It adds some diversity to the session! :) They also brought their adorable black lab Cole with them. He was awesome! So curious, so adventurous, and he had a great time splashing in the water at the off leash beach! Jenn is a dental hygenist who works in Grand Forks 4 days of the week, and Terry works in the opposite direction. Weekends are their only time to see each other! They spend their weekends together doing things they love as often as they can.

We started their session off on a cliff over looking the lake! GORGEOUS! Where clumsy me stepped on a cactus and had a bleeding foot. (hey it’s hard being 6 foot 1). From there we headed down to the lake to get some photos in the water! This lake is STUNNING! It was actually named one of the top 10 most beautiful lakes in the world by National Geographic!

At the end of their session, we were walking back to the car and I heard it! A rattling. I stopped, “What is that?!?!?!” There was a rattlesnake only a few feet away in the grass rattling like crazy! I couldn’t see it, but the grass was moving and I could definitly hear it!! Not gonna lie I was a little nervous!

Jenn and Terry are so photogenic, so easy together. They were both a little nervous before their session, but by the end they were pros. I can’t wait for their wedding in October! Their outdoorsy/nature theme is going to be gorgeous!!
