Rejuvenate

These past few months have been jam packed. I’ve been in go go go mode working on the launch, Marco and I started coaching a U-18 women’s volleyball team, and we are both working on starting second businesses! Yes it’s “off season” for us photographers, but it’s not really OFF season. Now is the time of year where the hustle happens, marketing, emailing inquiries, business plan writing and tweaking, social media plan writing, budgeting for the year etc. etc. The oh so less glamorous side of running your own business ;)

I realized after almost having a full blown panic attack over something minor, that maybe I was wound up a bit too tight. Maybe I needed a day to put business aside…a day where I didn’t think about any of this at all.

One of my best friends, Jackie was coming into town to visit and to help me celebrate my launch, so I knew a day of fun was needed! We called up two of our closest friends and decided to meet for breakfast. The best part? We left the rest of the day open to see where it took us.

It was EXACTLY what I needed. The cozy conversation in Wendel’s in Fort Langley filled with massive bursts of laughter that had us all in tears and lasted literally until lunch time. We were all too full from eggs benny and omlettes to eat lunch, so we decided to pile in to one of our cars and head to Chapters. Seriously these girls are after my heart. We aimlessly explored Chapters, and found books to better our business (me and Laura stopped to lovingly acknowldge Daring Greatly….and both considered buying another copy so we could gift it to someone).

Our next stop was to explore the old ferry docks at Fort Langley. Taliah was excited to have found a mini beach and I was excited to be outside, exploring with these girls. Obviously we brought our cameras, Laura busted out her iphone with TSwift, and we spent a good chunk of the day just hanging out at our little private beach!

Shoes soaked with sand and river water, hair wind curled and losing all sense of style from the morning, we piled back into Wendel’s to warm up with coffee and cookies. Seriously I could talk to these girls all day.

It was EXACTLY what I needed to rejuvenate. To give my brain a rest and to remind myself to celebrate the little things. Take time for friends. Block aside these days for randomness.

The best adventures are the ones that happen when a close group of friends says “what should we do next?”
