Over the past almost 10 years I’ve gotten to know this family super well! Spent lots of time at their house, on holidays with them, and celebrated a wedding and a new baby with them! So yes I may be biased, but they are one of my favourite families!
My first year playing volleyball at UFV, I immediately hit it off with Carrolyn, one of the only other girls over 6 feet on the team! We spent the year becoming super close and I am so blessed to have her in my life!
From volleyball parties at her house, to our annual pool parties, to the annual August long weekend 70- Mile trip they’ve always made me and Marco feel like a part of their family. We had a blast celebrating with Carrolyn’s younger sister Brittany and her hubby Dan as they tied the knot a few years ago, and were so excited to meet Niccolo, their son when he was born in January!
I was so excited when they contacted me about doing family photos!! Getting there was quite the adventure! haha they had planned the photos for two locations, one of them being Whonnock Lake in Maple Ridge. I headed in from Chilliwack with the highway being super slow going already, only to get to Abbotsford and find that the Mission Bridge was down to single lane traffic due to an accident and was backed up soooooo far.
So I headed back to the highway to head to take the Golden Ears Bridge. While driving there I heard on the radio an accident on the PortMann had backed the highway back to 232nd exit. Greeeeeaat. Not already late, I was so panicked!!
I phoned Care, and told her the ridiculous news, and headed off at 264th exit to take the Fraser Highway to the bridge. It took me just over 3 hours to get to a location that normally takes 45 minutes! I was so panicked we would lost the light before I had gotten enough photos, but we finished just in time and the lighting was gorgeous!!!!
Thanks to the Jennings for being so patient!! :)
