If you haven’t heard me talk about Showit before, where have you been?! haha just kidding, kinda.

Showit is the company I do my website through. They are also the company that launched PASS, my new photo sharing software!

They started a facebook group about a year and a half ago, and this amazing community of photographers formed. Andrew Barlow, is the man behind the community, he monitors the group, helps run Showit Live (the morning show for photographers) and a whack load more things! I have met so many amazing friends through this group…some of who I skype with every week, one who is redesigning my website!, and many others I can’t wait to get to know better!

A few months ago Andrew posted in the Showiteers group that they were taking the Showit Live on the road and if we were interested in having them come to our city to send him an email! A few of us sent him emails with big “COME TO VANCOUVER” subjects! And after his first stop in Phoenix, Andrew announced he was making his way to Vancouver!!

When Andrew got here, I met him and Matt out at Matt’s house to help plan out the months shows! It was SOOO great to finally meet Andrew! He’s one of those guys that’s so easy to talk to you instantly feel you have known them for years!

The first show was at Matt Kennedy’s house for the first show,  and they tried to incorporate as many Canadian stereotypes as they could!  They hit hockey, toques, moose, eh, and a few more I think! They did an awesome job. You can watch the video here!

That night, we all headed to Laura’s house for a big Showit BBQ! She ROCKED the BBQ! haha she had burgers all ready to go, salads, roasted veggies, stuffed mushrooms, and TWO desserts! I was stuffed! It was such a blast to hang out, meet some others showit users I have been wanting to meet for awhile! ( Hi Chris!) and to just chat with Andrew about the company, and get our feedback on Showit, PASS and any changes we would make. There’s nothing better than a company that gets feedback from it’s users….in person :)

Andrew was our houseguest for the night after the BBQ and Luca had a blast helping him check the microphone the next morning, and showing him all his toys! :)

The next morning, Matt headed over (and was almost late! In all fairness the roads around our house ARE CRAAAAAZY! Almost everyone who has come over to visit has gotten lost the first time!) and I had the HUGE honor of being interviewed on Showit Live! I was SOOOOO nervous….as you can probably tell! haha! I chatted a bit about me as a photographer, and mostly about how I balance momhood and photography! I am no expert by any means, but I try everyday to balance it as best I can!

I want to say a HUGE thank you to Andrew for coming out and visiting us, and bringing the show to us! Luca is still asking where you went, he LOVED that microphone!  It was SO great to finally meet you and we will be taking you up on your offer ASAP to come visit Santa Barbara, and meet Kimmy!

Another HUGE thank you to Matt for being an awesome Showit Live host! :) Made it WAY less nervous having you there!
