Leighton: Abbotsford Newborn Pictures
Oh am I ever in love with this little girl! I have been patiently awaiting her arrival for MONTHS! I even contemplated kidnapping her in my camera bag…she woulda fit!
Kristine and Joel are Leighton’s happy and blessed parents. I met them both through UFV Volleyball where Marco and I both played. Kristine was on the women’s team and now assistant coaches and Joel was on the men’s team. I love them both!
I had an instant love for Kristine because she is 6’1 as well! I have a thing for tall women I guess :) We can instantly talk for hours about the horrid experience of jean shopping, shirt shopping, shoe shopping…..jeans and shirts are never long enough and with legs that long you better believe there’s a giant pair of feet attached to them! haha! People are always looking down at our feet to see if we are wearing heels! I want to buy a shirt that says “NO I am not wearing heels” haha we are also both slightly obsessed with food. Okay VERY obsessed! We also both couldn’t wait to be Mama’s! Listening to Kristine talk last summer at our annual pool party about wanting to have a baby brought back so many memories of when Marco and I started trying! She was so excited, so ready and a tad anxious that trying might take longer than hoped! I was beyond thrilled when I heard a few months later that she was pregnant! And man was she a GORGEOUS pregnant lady! :)
Kristine and Joel found out they were having a baby girl and I started buying some props! I had yet to do a newborn shoot for a girl, and with me having a son I was so excited to finally buy pink! :) I couldn’t WAIT to meet her!
I got to their new house last week and Leighton is perfect! She was born at 10’4lbs but she still looked tiny to me :) Kristine looked amazing (I was amazingly jealous at how amazing she looked just two weeks after giving birth), she didn’t look tired at all, and she was so skinny already! Joel was so proud and so happy. He is madly working on renovations for the upstairs of their new house, while taking care of Kristine and Leighton. He is such an amazing husband and an amazing Dad.
I can’t wait for many many more visits with this family :) I am so happy for them!! Congrats Kristine and Joel on a gorgeous daughter :)

I have known Joel for many years..since we were born actually.
We were childhood playmates and neighbors!!
I met Kristine shortly after (and was instantly drawn to her spunky personality!) they started and still remember the day she came into the school proudly holding out her left hand with a stunning ring.
Leighton is such sweetheart and I can’t wait to hold her when they come up North for a visit.
