Penticton Wedding Photographer: Scott and Kara

“We recently just went to California for spring break and he proposed at Disneyland through a caricature drawing infront of hundreds of people! Never in a million years did I think he could pull off a proposal like that!”

As soon as I got Kara’s email I knew I wanted to meet them  both! And see the infamous caricature drawing that got her to say YES! Kara said she thought the artist had made a mistake at first and she was about to look at Scott with a look on her face, when she noticed he was down on one knee!! She was COMPLETELY blown away!!

Scott and Kara are the perfect mix of sentimental, festive, and wholehearted and their wedding day reflected that so well. From her Grandmothers wedding rings Kara wore on her right hand, to the fact they had their photos done in the SS Sicamous that had it’s maiden voyage 102 years previous almost to the date.

The girls getting ready was a vibrant mix of bright reds, oranges and pinks, mixed with country music and mimosas. You could tell how much Kara loved these girls and their easy, strong friendships with each other were so easy to see.

Watching Kara’s Dad walk her down the aisle was so heartwarming. Kara kept grinning and forth between the two most important men in her life and beaming. Kara’s Dad was holding back tears and looking SO proud as he gave his daughter away. Scott’s eyes were just as filled with tears and not gonna lie, mine were too behind the camera!

Second only to the bride and groom, were the flower girls. Oh my gosh did they almost steal the show! These two are absolutely adorable and their personalities shone through. Their reactions to the ceremony and the first kiss were my most favourite ever.

I choked up again at the end of the ceremony, when Scott and Kara showed how much they valued and loved their parents by walking down the aisle and heading right to them for huge hugs. It was so touching to see!

From then on for Scott and Kara it was time to celebrate!!! Flasks were being passed around and we headed out to the SS Sicamous for photos. It was WINDY and raining off and on but everyone rocked the outdoor photos no problem! The wind blew my dress up to my mid back at one point, but thankfully the only person (I think?!) who saw was my husband! In my head it was very Marilyn Monroe.

Scott and Kara, Marco and I had the BEST time helping you celebrate and being a part of your day!! :)

We saw so many people bust out the Titanic pose while we were doing photos, so the guys decided to join in the fun!
