There are no words to describe how much I love this couple, their families and their wedding. With Tyler and Ayla living in Calgary, we didn’t get the chance to meet in person before their wedding day. As we drove to Shushwap (after switching vehicles due to a BLOWN tire!) I was a little on the nervous side….hoping that we would be a good fit!

The minute I walked into the house where Ayla was getting ready, I knew we would be just fine! Ayla is this tiny, blonde, gorgeous girl with the biggest heart and she just pours out love and energy! Everyone around her cant help but smile! And her sisters! The most welcoming, beautiful (inside and out) girls I have ever met! I just adored their family!

Marco headed down to the guys cabin, and got photos of the guys “showering” in the lake due to a plumbing issue the night before! They were having a blast! Tyler and his brothers are the nicest, best group of good lookin guys I have yet to photograph! They were so much fun!

Now let’s bring up this weekends weather. This was the weekend of the flash floods in Shushwap! Thankfully it was not near where we were, but the lake had been rising a shocking amount in the few days leading up to the wedding, and the ceremony was to take place on the dock. I just ADORE Tyler and Ayla’s attitude! Her dream was to get married on the dock, and so they did. Torrential downpour so hard you had a hard time hearing their vows, and the groomsmens suits were soaked through in seconds. (Check out the video at the end to hear how hard it was raining!!)

Their photos are some of my favourites ever! They were up for anything, rain or shine! They wanted outdoor photos and I am so glad they did! I threw a plastic shopping bag over my camera, and out we went! Everyone was soaked through all their layers but we were having so much fun no one cared!

Their reception almost requires another entire blogpost, but I will keep it short! I have never laughed so hard over speeches. All 5 of Ayla’s bridesmaids did a “joined” speech, where each of their parts carried on into the next story.With 4 of the girls being her sisters, it was so meaningful, and made for some hilarious stories! Tyler’s brothers had us all in tears from laughing so hard telling stories of when they first met Ayla. There’s something about spending a rainy day outside, coming inside to good food, close family sharing stories that is my favourite thing ever. I just love it. (though I do prefer the sun!)

Tyler and Ayla, I am so glad we got to share in your day. I literally can’t say enough how much we love you guys and your family!!! Definitely keep in touch, and can’t wait to hopefully see you guys soon! :)

A huge thank you to Marco for being my 2nd shooter for the day! I literally couldn’t have done this wedding without you! I would have been lost when the tire blew, my camera would have been toast if you hadn’t rescued me with the plastic bag and umbrella, and you were the best looking 2nd shooter I know ;)
