A little something you all should know…
I am OBSESSED with Christmas. literally. It’s obsession in it’s finest form.
I love how one minute it’s Halloween and Fall and Harvesty and orange, red and yellow and then instantly and literally OVERNIGHT it’s red, green, snowflakes, and egg nog and Christmas carols. I am big lover of Holidays in general. Any reason to hang out with family and friends, eat good food, decorate, and be festive is just awesome. I actually get goosebumps and almost teary eyed when I think about the wonderfulness of Christmas. Yes I am a tad passionate about the holidays (I even have a holiday pinboard on Pinterest!)….so keep your “bah humbugs” away from this girl!
I got my first HUGE Christmas fix this morning in Michaels. My favourite store ever. They are decked out to the nines in Christmas crafts, decor and ideas! I walked around like a kid in a candy store for almost an hour and was tempted to buy EVERYTHING.
When Marco and I first started dating and he was blindsided by my Christmas fever he asked me, “what is it about Christmas you love so much?!” oh boy that was a LONNNNG conversation! haha…here’s some of the highlights….
A REAL Christmas tree!
The first snow of the year…and the 2nd, and 3rd….
EGG NOG,
Christmas movies (Charlie Brown, A Christmas Story, ELF, Santa Claus is coming to town, Rudolph, etc. etc. etc.)
Driving around and seeing Christmas lights
Christmas Eve Mass
CHRISTMAS MUSIC (last year Glee was the fav)
Christmas decorations – garland, lights, wreaths…
Candy Canes and Christmas candy in general
New Christmas pajamas (I bought my fleece ones for this year yesterday from Superstore…the count is now up to 6!)
Buying Christmas presents for people I love
But most importantly I love the collective feel of Christmas. It’s not one thing in particular. It’s the overall warm happy feeling. It’s the cuddle up under a blanket with egg nog, by the Christmas tree with chesnuts roasting on your open fire, next to your Noble Fir tree decorated with white lights, while big fat snowflakes fall outside, and Christmas carols play softly in the background kind of feeling. It’s the getting to buy other people presents and not being able to wait to see their face when they open the presents. It’s the joy in celebrating the entire reason behind the season, the birth of Jesus. It’s that feeling on Christmas Eve when you are sitting in church singing Oh Holy Night with so many families together. And the past two years it’s been waking up as a family and opening our presents together, and sharing my insane love of Christmas with our son.
So go grab an Egg Nog Latte, or a White Chocolate Peppermint Latte (CLOSE 2nd to the egg nog latte in my books) and revel in the fact that there are only 52 days until Christmas!!!!!! :)
1) I’m the type of girl who wants to wait till December 1st but I will respect your crazy Christmas obsession.
2) Has anyone else told you that your fleece pj’s are extremely attractive?
3) In regards to you buying Christmas presents for people that you love, I am currently working on my list now.

1.) I wait until Dec.1 to decorate, I use November to get excited and easy myself into it.
2.) Yes. Marco does all the time. In fact I have nicknamed them my “sexy fleece pajamas”….and don’t hate on them….I recall you having some pretty attractive outfits when we were growing up too!

O my. I think you and I are twins in this regard!! I just wrote a blog post about Christmas too! I CAN’T wait! Last year for my bday (in Feb) – I got the Willow Tree nativity scene set, so this is the 1st yr it’ll be put out….can’t wait! And to celebrate, I also indulged in a peppermint mocha this afternoon – bring Christmas on – in ALL it’s glory!!!!!
Oh Justine, I love you! I’m obsessed with Christmas, TOO!!! I actually don’t tell a lot of people because some people are so negative about the 1st snowfall, stores playing Christmas music too early, shopping for pressies etc. lol! I was editing a wedding to Christmas music on the weekend. Weird? I don’t think so. It felt oh, so right!

ohmygoodness I want the WillowTree Nativity scene SO SO bad! It’s probably the most gorgeous one I have ever seen!!! :) Mmm peppermint mochas…. so so good!
hahaha I am editing to Michael Bubles new Christmas CD right now!!! haha it feels so so right!!! I am always nervous to tell people about my obsession too, but this year I thought forget it!

The countdown is on!!! I can hardly wait until Christmas, it’s my absolute favourite time of the year! I especially like sending out all my Christmas cards but especially all the music that goes along with the Season. There’s a lot of garbage out there, but there’s a whole lot more great classics. My favourite part of all is getting together with the family for the big dinner where I eat waaaaay too much; but it’s such a good time to see people and so much fun.
