Manning Park 2012!

There was some great confusion in our family as to what year this was at Manning, so we sat down and counted it out and realized that last year we were wrong, that THIS YEAR was year 19 there, making next year the big 20! We had tons of good ideas on how to celebrate…I want to do them all!! :)

From the summer I was 8 years old until this summer we have been going camping at Lightning Lakes, at Manning Provincial Park about 45 minutes past Hope. It’s one of my favourite places in the entire world. Summer isn’t Summer without Manning. It’s my second favourite “holiday” after Christmas and this year it was extra special as my entire family was able to make it up, and all at the same time too! :)

Marco, Luca and I shared a campsite with Chantale and Kyle (the newly ENGAGED!!) and Monique, Howard and Jean-Luc shared a campsite with my parents….side by side….so Luca had a blast running back and forth between our two campsites yelling, “I’m BAAAAAAACK!”

The weather this year was FANTASTIC!!! Sunny and hot everyday except for one, so we spent the majority of the time down at the lake, reading, building damns and digging with trucks, and swimming in the 10 or so degree freezing cold glacier fed lake. After 19 years I am still not QUITE used to the temperature of the water….but it sure was amazing our second last day there when temperatures hit 37!

Although I am sad Manning’s over, it means I can now officially start counting down the days until FALL!! :) Mmmmm pumpkin spiced lattes :)

Here’s some highlights of our trip! :)
