Aaron and Leslie chose to do their engagement photos at Harrison Mills just a week before their wedding (so stay tuned for their wedding photos later this week!). They wanted to have time to slow down and focus on each other in the chaos of the week leading up to the wedding. The week before can get crazy with last minute details and planning and the focus can sometimes be shifted away from the two of you. It gets shifted to floral arrangements, and who’s picking up Grandma from the airport, and what time is the tee time for the guys again? When it should be on your fiance. You’re in your last week of being a fiance, the last time you will be at this stage in your life and I LOVE that Aaron and Leslie chose to do their engagement photos then to capture and remember that time.

The second part of their reasoning was that they wanted as much time as possible on their wedding day to invest time with their guests. They wanted to be really present. They still wanted those photos of the two of them together to celebrate, but they held equally important the time with their loved ones. They wanted to focus on having their genuine and candid moments captured.

The more you get to know these two, the more you love them. They remind me of sunshine. It’s the first word that comes to mind when I think of them. They’re carefree, adventurous, and they dance every chance they get. Within minutes of photographing them I asked if they’ve ever had photos done before. The way the moved together and were always aware of the other was incredible to see! Once they told me they danced together it all made sense! They move so effortlessly and and they’re always aware of where the other was….something my 6’1 self with no body awareness envied!

Getting to spend time with these guys just a week before their wedding was amazing. I loved catching up with Leslie and meeting Aaron and the best part was I didn’t have to wait MONTHS before seeing them again at their wedding ;)
